Hey, i just realised it's September 11th, a most important anniversary: It's exactly 25 years since a US-backed military coup began an era of bloodshed and privateering in Chile.
Lest we forget.
Epoch Times (a newspaper that's apparently quite partial to Falun Gong; see the blog discussion) is reporting that Australian Labor Party ministers in the Rudd Government, specifically Steven Smith (Foreign Affairs) and Robert McClelland (Attorney-General) are attempting to prevent torture cases from being pursued against members of the Chinese government in the Australian legal system. Entirely consistent with the stance of people like Kevin Rudd toward massacres in East Timor. I tend to believe it.
